Rubbernecker Challenge #23

Found the Rubbernecker Stamp blog challenge today.
I love their stamps!  Their challenge is Christmas and Sparkle this time.  Unfortunately, all I have are summer flower and fall stamps from them.  I hope to win the challenge and get some winter stamps to add to my collection.
For this card I used Hero Arts Stamp and Cut "Jingle All the Way" set to stamp the scene and colored in with Copics.
For the sparkle I used some Wink of Stella in Pink, Green, Gold and Silver and also used some Chibitronics LED light and copper to make Rudolf's nose light up.
I finished up with some torn paper for snow hills that hid the battery compartment really well.

Thanks Rubbernecker Stamps for the fun challenges!  While I didn't have a Christmas stamp to use, your watercolor stamps are the best!

Analogous Color Palette challenge with Color Bursts

Hi All,

I found this challenge over on Ken Davis' blog and thought I'd have some fun with it.

Analogous Color Palettes...Color Challenge, Turquoise, Chartreuse, Yellow Ochre and Burnt Umber

I do love the Color Burst products, but I have not had a lot of time to use them yet.  The bright colors seem to move and produce magic!  This seemed like a great time to get them out.

I started with a spritz and sprinkle with the 4 Color Burst colors - Turquoise, Chartreuse, Yellow Ochre and Burnt Umber.  I love how these colors move when you add water!

(Sorry about the color shift in my photos - I need to find more light.)

Next I tried using the Secret Garden stencil from Anna Griffin with mixed results - but this section came out fairly well.

Next I tried the Tim Holtz wildflower stencil with some BoBunny Copper Glitter Paste.  After the past dried, I tried two different techniques.  First up was a light color wash of the four colors that worked well enough to put the result on a card.  Second was a Spritz and Sprinkle technique that did not work as well.  I love the color movement that the technique gives, but the color intensity did not work well with the copper flowers.  Live and learn.

Finally I tried stamping with the Fall Foliage stamp from RubberNecker Stamps.  The first time, I tried a wash with Turquoises and Chartreuse in the background and then some Yellow Ochre and Burnt Umber on the stamp.  I think the background was still too damp since the color keep moving.
The next time I created a background wash and the stamping on a different piece of paper.

Thanks for the challenge and lesson on analogous colors Ken Oliver!

BoBunny July 2016 challenge fun

More BoBunny fun!
I used the Bobunny July sketch challenge for inspiration and motivation to get further on a scrapbook I am working on.
Here is the sketch

Here is my scrapbook page.

I used BoBunny Sleigh Ride papers Pinecones and Aspen and a few miscellaneous items like chipboard stickers and jewels from the Snowfall collection 4 years ago.  One of the reasons I love BoBunny is that some of their new collections coordinate well with past collections - giving you even more options for paper-crafting fun.  Scraps never need to go to waste.  I also had fun with Bobunny copper glitter paste and a stencil.  Another reason I love BoBunny is their awesome education - I loved the online blog class and created two books from their Snowfall class 4 years ago.
Thanks Bobunny, for the chance to win.

June 2016 BoBunny Sketch Challenge

BoBunny creates such beautiful papers and embellishments!  They also have sketch challenge this month.  Here is the link to the challenge.  Here is the sketch -

I decided to play with some of the flowery Madeleine papers.  I altered the sketch a bit because I wanted to keep the beautiful floral highlights on the Madeleine Charms pages visible and also use the frames on the Madeleine Allure page.  Madeleine Stripe was the fourth paper I used.

Thanks BoBunny for the beautiful paper and for the chance to win more fabulous new BoBunny items!
