Compendium of Curiosities Challenge #30

My garden is blooming and I wanted a new vase to coordinate with my pink and purple flowers.  This new Compendium of Curiosities Challenge #30 was just the inspiration I needed to create my own unique item.
This is a great challenge blog!  It's a fun way to work through all the different ideas in Tim Holtz's Compendium of Curiosities #3 book.  I recommend you click the link above and see all of their great projects.

This challenge is using the technique of faux cracked glass.  You can find the instructions on page 54 of Tim Holtz Compendium of Curiosities book #3.  Here is my project using the faux cracked glass technique. I started with the cute clear glass small milk bottle.  You can see before and after in the photo above.  I followed the technique and then used sailboat blue and purple twilight alcohol inks to color the glass.

Here is a close-up of the cool faux cracked glass texture.  This crackled effect does make the glass look old and more vintage.

It is sponsored by the Funkie Junkie Boutique.  They have a fabulous $25.00 prize for a random winner.  Wouldn't it be great to win - they have fun stuff!  There is also a wonderful prize from Tim and Mario for the Curiosity Crew's choice prize.  Join in - this challenge was fun.
